The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers are an excellent choice for those who are looking to remove mopping from their list of things to do. They have impressive mapping and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some wash and refill their mopping pads for a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that also mops then this is the model to go for. It's smaller than other options on this list making it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery in mid-clean.

It's efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt as well as pet hair and even droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs, and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, though not by much. The rotating mop spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, like broken toys and books.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't produce as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It's easy to install and performs well, but this is something that you'll have to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a variety of features.

The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home and also identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and effectively. This ensures a thorough and consistent clean, while also being relatively quick.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.

Another noteworthy feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction strength and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also deactivate the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.

It's expensive, however it has many useful features. It is important to note, however, that the device is subject to recurring expenses in the form mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads should be changed every one to three month.

automated vacuum cleaner  has an excellent rating on Amazon and comes with a wide array of physical automation features. It has the power button that serves as a general "Clean' button and a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station after completing its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who just wants a cleaner home without spending much time doing chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a good option. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one vacuum and mop. It can do both mopping and vacuuming. The robot has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of the way. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated but they're a good thing because you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate floorplan, which it uses to determine a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers that help to keep specific areas of your home from being swept with a mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair of pets. It was able capture some of the hair our cats shed, and even got into some of the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots had struggled. It was relatively quiet and had some pleasant jingles that let you know when it was beginning or finished its work.

The biggest flaws were its simple app and the requirement to swap between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app doesn't have the capacity to store multiple maps, which could be a problem for homes with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who want a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is most notable for its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin and a 2.5 milliliter dust bin.

The base also comes with a set of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums the Omni Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more precise at recognising objects.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally get caught up in an obstacle--such as a power cord draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This was a rare occurrence however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert in its application.

Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, the mopping pad doesn't get washed or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome sight in a space that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
